This Guide is intended to assist you in determining whether to use any of our services
offered in this Guide. It includes information about remuneration that may be paid
to others or us in relation to the products or services offered and what you can
do if you have a complaint about our services.
Information is set out here in answer to specific questions. If you need more
information or clarification, please ask us.
Introduction
This Financial Services Guide (FSG) is intended to give you information concerning
our relationship, prior to us providing you with a financial service. The matters covered by the FSG include:
- who we are
- how we can be contacted
- what services we are authorised to provide to you
- how we are remunerated
- details of any potential conflicts of interest
- details of our internal and external dispute resolution procedures and how you can access them
This FSG will assist you in determining whether to use any of the services described below.
If we recommend that you acquire a financial product, or we offer to issue or arrange for
the issue of a financial product to you, where required, we will also provide you with
a Product Disclosure Statement (PDS) containing information about that product. This
will help you to make an informed decision about the acquisition of that product.
Australian Insurance Services (NSW)
On 1 July 2008, Momentum Insurance Services Pty Ltd purchased Australian Insurance
Services (NSW)) herein (AIS). All invoices/policies/insurance related documents
issued after this date, are issued on behalf of Momentum Insurance Services.
Momentum Insurance Services Pty Ltd has registered the trading name of Australian
Insurance Services (NSW), and continues to trade in Kempsey as Australian Insurance
Servicers (NSW).
About Us
Momentum Insurance Services Pty Ltd is an AFSL Licensee under the Corporations Act
(Cth) 2001. We are authorized to arrange and advise on a range of General
Insurance Products. Our ABN is 38 104 817 101, Our CAN is 104 817 101 and our AFSL
license number is 282998.
What Financial Services are we authorised to provide to you and what kind of
products do those services relate to?
We are a licensed insurance broker able to provide you with financial product
advice, and to deal, in relation to General Insurance products. Our Australian
Financial Services License number is 282998.
Workers Compensation Insurance
Unless specifically agreed and detailed in writing, our services do not include Workers
Compensation Insurance. Employers are required to effect insurance direct with
licensed insurers in New South Wales.
About Our Remuneration
We may be paid commission by Insurers for arranging and altering or varying
the policy, which is based on a percentage of the premium less stamp duty, fire
services levy, GST and any other Government charges and imposts. The rate of
commission varies depending on the Insurer and the policy and may range
from 0% to 25%. The commission is included in the premium charged and covers
the expenses we incur in running our business as well as a profit component.
We retain the commission from the premium you pay us and remit the balance to
the Insurer.
We may charge you a Broker Fee or Administration Fee rather than commission for
arranging your policy/s. We may charge you a combination of a Broker Fee or
Administration Fee and commission for arranging a policy. The Broker Fee may
be a flat agreed fee or a fee based upon the time or other factors we spend
advising &/or servicing you.
Our employees and representatives receive an annual remuneration that can include
a bonus based on them meeting certain business performance criteria, such as
internal service standards, volume of business and may share in the commission
and fees earned by the Company.
In some cases another party may introduce you to us, in return for which we may
share with them our commission or fees, or pay them an agreed referral fee. The
commission we share on the premium may range from 2.5% to 22.5%, depending on our
relationship and role with the introducer.
In the event of a refund for the cancellation or adjustment of a policy, we reserve
the right to retain our remuneration.
Binder Agreement
AIS has entered into an agreement with The Hollard Insurance Company Pty Ltd where
AIS recommends Hollard products to its clients, acting under Hollard's behalf under
binder. Depending on profitability, AIS may from time to time expect to receive a
share of the underwriting profits, based on the overall performance of the insurance
portfolio after deducting claims and expenses. The % of profit payable may vary and
is not guaranteed.
Do we have any relationships or associations which might influence the provision
of Our Financial Service?
We do not have any associations or relationships that are capable of influencing
our advice to You, other than those from which we may receive remuneration or
benefits already declared to You &/or where coverage terms are advantageous to You.
How can you provide us with instructions?
You may give us instructions by telephone, fax or other means, which we agree with you.
Who is responsible for the advice I receive?
AIS is responsible for the advice and services provided to you by our employees and
those external people that AIS has authorised to act on our behalf ("Authorised
Representatives").
All Representatives are qualified, competent and experienced professionals who
will work with you to obtain cover appropriate for your needs and circumstances.
While our "Authorised Representatives" are not employees of AIS they are able to
provide you with the same level of advice and service that you would expect to receive
from us directly. Our Authorised Representatives, who act solely for AIS, can be

If You Have Any Complaints
Contact us and tell us about your complaint. We have our own internal disputes
resolution procedures in place. Any complaint can be expressed, in the first
instance, to the AIS Representative servicing your Account or alternatively,
taken direct to the AIS Complaints Manager in writing or by telephone. We will
need you to provide us with comprehensive details to enable us to investigate
your complaint further.
As required under Law, we belong to an approved external dispute resolution scheme
and are a member of Insurance Brokers Disputes Limited ("IBD") - a free consumer
service for the resolution of disputes in relation to insurance brokers and
their clients. You are free at anytime to contact them direct with your complaint.
